Fractionated Stereotactic Radiosurgery (FSRS)

Fractionated Stereotactic Radiosurgery is used for patients with brain or skull-base tumors that are too large to safely undergo single fraction radiosurgery, but still have the goal of delivery a high dose of radiotherapy to a very conformal region. This technique employs high precision of setup and treatment with imaging verification prior to treatment. This treatment limits the amount of unwanted radiation to the surrounding normal tissue. This can be particularly beneficial in treating intracranial tumors (such brain metastases, meningiomas, and others).
